Dayea had been backing up files and opening new research parameters for the current research work from their current area. But just as she was about to type in the next set of parameters when she was summoned to the CO's ready room. There hadn't been much of a wait as she stepped through and said, "Lt Dayea Rais. You wish to speak with me, sir?"
"Yes, I wanted to see what the status is with the information collected from the surface. I understand it is short notice but we need to get an update if possible."
"The investigation is still ongoing sir. Though there is quite a bit, not much is understandable to our way of thinking. To be honest I'd be surprised if the Romulans would have any better luck that we have. I have been able to find out that the technology is quite literally tapping into the vast energy deposits radiating from beneath the surface of the planet. Now how to make it work... remains a mystery. It's quite possible it's a type of telepathy on a scale unheard of as yet. I won't know much more for a while, sir." she knew her report would be disappointing at best. But this was something that Rais himself had never seen in all his lifetimes and his experience in this was all she really had to go on.
"Understood. Can you research it further and get back with me?"
"Of course, sir. I'll pass off my information to the chief." she stated, "Is there anything else, sir?"
"No, just get me the information as quickly as possible."
"Aye, sir." Dayea said nodded, readying to make her way toward the door. "I'll get right on it. Since there's nothing else....."
